Recreational League Updates

May 6th, 2020

River Soccer Club has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Youth Spring Soccer season. We were hopeful that conditions might exist for the season to be played, but we have simply run out of time. We are going to transfer your registration to our fall program which will begin on September 12, 2020.

In line with our refund policy that was communicated in April 2020 and is posted on our website, should you desire a refund you must request in writing are fund by May 16, 2020. The request should have the following: Player name, parent name, and address to [email protected] A refund will take about six weeks to process and will be assessed a $25.00 fee per registration. This fee is collected to help RSC pay for pre-existing costs to facilitate this program such as field/complex maintenance, administration costs, utilities, etc... A $80.00 registration would result in a refund of $55.00 (excluding any multi player discounts). Players who are transferred to the fall will be transferred at the full amount and will owe nothing for the fall season.

We wished for a different outcome, but. unfortunately that is not possible. We will have a full season this fall and possibly some other soccer related activities during the summer. This is a decision that we do not make easily or lightly, and we are keeping the health and safety for all involved in our programs as our number one priority. Thank you for your support and understanding.

April 7th, 2020

We hope everyone is safe and healthy during these difficult times. A decision on the cancellation of the Spring 2020 Recreational Season will be based on recommendations of the State of Delaware. As of this moment, April 6th, the State of Delaware has issued a Stay-At-Home Order until May 15th. We are planning on continuing our Spring Recreational Season on Saturday May 16th through June 20th, a six-week season. RSC feels families and players will be excited to return to soccer and some normalcy if possible and permitted by the State.

If the Spring 2020 Recreational League is cancelled OR it continues on May 16th and your family feels uncomfortable participating, you will have the following options.

Option 1 (RSC Highly Recommended): Your Spring Recreational League fees and registration will roll directly over to Fall 2020 Recreational League fees and registration. The entire $80 fall Rec fee will be covered.

Option 2: Your Spring Recreational League fees and registration will roll directly over to River Summer Camp fees and registration.

Option 3: Refund your Spring Recreational League fees. Refunds will incur a service fee of $25.00 per registrant.  A $80.00 registration would result in a $55.00 refund.  Please understand that RSC has already assumed costs which include jerseys, equipment, field maintenance, administration, etc… Processing for the refunds will take about 6-8 weeks.

Again, the decision on the cancellation of the Spring 2020 Recreational Season will be based on recommendations of the State of Delaware. RSC families will be informed immediately once any updates occur. Once the final decision is made about our Spring Recreational League, we will provide specific instructions and procedures to move forward on the options presented above. We appreciate your patience and understanding in these challenging times.

Travel Team Updates

May 8th, 2020

Due to COVID-19, RSC has made a decision to cancel the spring travel soccer season.  By the end of the week, RSC will cancel the 3rd (final) billing installment that was inputted into Stack.  There are a few scenarios that will affect each family differently based on your unique situation:

1)     If you have not paid the final installment, and are current on the 1st and 2nd installment, your balance will adjusted to zero in Stack and no further action is necessary.

2)     If you have not paid the final installment, and currently have a balance for the 1st or 2nd installment, those fees are still due and a payment plan should be established with your team manager or through your Stack login.

3)     If you have paid the final installment in full or in partial, the amount paid will be credited to your Fall Travel soccer season once we get up and running on the new GotSport platform through GotSoccer.

4)     In a few unique scenarios, teams had played a spring tournament in early March.  Those fees will be adjusted accordingly and are due as well as any 1st or 2nd installment fees still owed on the account.

DYSA has made a decision to leave the Stack platform and switch to the more user friendly GotSport platform.  More details on the GotSport platform will be given in the summer.  Stack will be terminated at the end of May 2020 which means we have one month to clean up our Stack balances.

If you have any questions, please reach out to your team manager for details.  Each manager will receive detail on who will be receiving a credit as well as who still owes money.  Any money not paid will be due prior to playing in the fall 2020 season.

Events that your team decides to do in the summer, if any, will be additional and the team manager will need to coordinate payments.
